Vancouver, B.C. (Canadian Press) – A coroner’s inquest into the death of a Polish immigrant last October at Vancouver International Airport has been delayed. That’s because the police investigation into Robert Dziekanski’s death has not yet been completed.
Dziekanski died when an RCMP officer used a Taser on him when he became agitated after spending hours wandering around the airport’s arrivals area.
The B.C. government will also conduct a public inquiry into the case.
It is most unfortunate that we take the word of the media and even more unfortunate that they do not ensure they have all the facts on both sides of an issue before they print an article. After all the discrepancies over the past number of years, you would think that the public would be skeptical of most reports.

OCT 14 2007 and counting; Robert Dziekanski died at YVR. An impartial investigation without bias is what we hope for, let’s wait and see what we get.

The hold up is that the investigation needs to be done properly, which may include charges against the officers that tasered Dziekanski. A coroner’s inquest is always delayed until police investigation is finished.
Should it be done quick or properly, I say properly.
