Ontario Finance Minister Greg Sorbara scored another legal victory yesterday after federal prosecutors decided not to appeal a court ruling that vindicated him in connection with a probe into Royal Group Technologies Inc.
Sean Hamilton, a spokesman for Mr. Sorbara, said his office was told yesterday that the Department of Justice will not seek leave to appeal the decision of Mr. Justice Ian Nordheimer of Ontario Superior Court who said Mr. Sorbara’s name should be removed from RCMP search warrants.
Mr. Sorbara, who was forced to resign from cabinet last October after he was named in the warrants, got his old job back last month.
