Slain Mountie’s parents denied injunction

Edmonton, Alberta  (Canadian Press) – The parents of a slain Alberta Mountie have lost a bid to delay his widow’s plan to move his body to the national RCMP cemetery in Regina.

A judge in Edmonton has turned down their request for an injunction to prevent Kelly Johnston from going ahead until the family can appeal.

Constable Leo Johnston was buried in his hometown of Lac La Biche in 2005 after he was killed with three other Mounties near Mayerthorpe, Alta.

Friends and family prevented his widow from having his body dug up when they gathered around his gravesite earlier this week.
