RCMP continued to investigated a security breach at the Prime Minister’s country home in Gatineau Park in which a woman smashed her car into the white wooden gate early Sunday. The woman was still in the custody of local police yesterday but had not been charged, police said. The woman reportedly just wanted to meet Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The RCMP protective unit quickly intercepted the car after it broke through the fence on the perimeter of the property on Lake Mousseau, also known as Harrington Lake, northeast of Ottawa, RCMP Corporal Jean Hainey said.
“The RCMP intercepted the vehicle right away and arrested the individual,” Cpl. Hainey said.
Mr. Harper was sleeping in the country home at the time.
