An Acadian Peninsula RCMP member was badly hurt in a crash just after midnight Sunday while responding to a call. The crash happened on Route 150 in Losier Settlement.
It appears the 28-year-old police officer lost control of his cruiser and skidded on the slippery roadway before colliding with a telephone pole.
He was responding to a hit and run motor vehicle collision at the time. An RCMP collision analyst has been to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
The police officer sustained serious head injuries and is in the trauma unit of The Moncton Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
“At this time, his family is by his side and we continue to pray that he fully recovers from his injuries,” Inspector Roch Fortin, Officer in Charge of the Acadian Peninsula RCMP, said yesterday.
