RCMP officer facing charges

Halton, Ontraio (insideHalton.com) – An RCMP officer has been charged with assault and mischief after an alleged altercation in the residential area of Postmaster Drive Tuesday.

The accused was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Halton Regional Police report they were called to the residence at approximately 5:30 p.m. after a disturbance was reported.

Police say an altercation was reported among three men as a result of a landscaping truck blocking a sidewalk.

During the altercation, a vehicle and cell phone were damaged. The accused is alleged to have assaulted one of the other two men involved.

Robert Galloway, 50, of Oakville faces charges of mischief under $5,000 and two counts of assault.

He is to appear in Milton court on July 17.
