(Winnipeg Sun) - A veteran Thompson RCMP officer has been charged with drunk driving.

RCMP say the member was off duty at the time he was allegedly caught driving under the influence on Sunday morning.

Const. Allan Spence, 42, a 19-year member of the RCMP, was driving about 10 kilometres north of Thompson at the time of his arrest, said police.

Spence was later and released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 4.
