The RCMP will not meet its recruiting goal this year and is launching a national campaign today to attract more young people to the force.
The $800,000 advertising blitz is aimed at the 18-to-34 age group — potential recruits young enough to be the children of veteran officers who will be retiring in droves over the next few years.
The campaign is designed around the pitch that the RCMP is an exciting, meaningful career with vast opportunities.
The Mounties hope the campaign will connect with members of the Internet generation who are being courted by other employers faced with Canada’s labour shortage.
Superintendent Glen Siegersma says the force wants Canadians to know the Mounties are hiring.
The campaign will feature millions of Internet ads, including some on the websites of popular radio stations across Canada.
While the RCMP business plan calls for recruiting about two-thousand people annually, the force will sign up only about 1,700 this year.
I have an axe to grind yes, I was harassed out for performing at a higher standard and working harder than others. Look up workplace mobbing and bullying. Look up what Australians define as the tall poppy syndrome . Guess what? The Harassment was covered up by this “great organization”. There were more people than just me you presumptious jerk. Look pal, you don’t know anything about me, you don’t know anything about the organization. The Force is a has been and it is gullible people like you who over rate them, buy into how they circle wagons all this feel good red serge crap. It is finally being exposed for what it is. Like it or lump it, they are not even the best in Canada let alone the world.

I AGREE WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR RCMP MEMBERS OBIVOUSLY SOMEONE WITH AN AXE TO GRIND OR WAS TURFED FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PERFORM TO THE STANDARD THE RCMP EXPECT..I AM NOT A POLICE OFFICER BUT BELONG TO ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION..THEY ARE TOP NOTCH…AND ONLY HUMAN ,WHO DEAL WITH HUMAN FRAILTIES IN AND OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION

I am sure your community would be safe if it had provincial police as well. This site is about telling the other side of the story about what a phony corrupt RCMP that has been riding it’s name for years. It is an organization that is rife with incompetence, corruption and coverups… Yes I HAVE BEEN ON THE INSIDE!

WTF kind of site is this? The RCMP do an excellent job in my community and its because of them we are safe. Where are those stories? This site is someone with a hate-on for authority and the RCMP. Get a life.
