An RCMP clerk and her son are among the three people facing charges following last week’s record drug bust in the South Okanagan area of B.C.
In a media statement, Cpl. Rick Dellebuur said Kathy Myshrall, 53 was employed as a clerk at the Penticton RCMP detachment. Myshrall and her son Jonathan, 25, and Brian Younie, 27, were arrested and charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
On June 27, the RCMP seized around two and a half kilograms of cocaine, hundreds of ecstasy tablets, a large quantity of psilocybin mushrooms and a large quantity of cash following a raid on two residences in the city of Penticton, B.C.
The RCMP said that this was the largest drug seizure of its kind to take place in the South Okanagan area.
The RCMP statement said that Younie has been released from custody for court at a later date, Kathy Myshrall has been released from custody on a $50,000 surety for court at a later date and Jonathan Myshrall remains in custody pending a bail hearing set for July 14.
