Ed Mason (iNews 880) – The Commissioner of the RCMP will resist any attempt by critics to force a moratorium on the use of Tasers.
In an exclusive interview with iNews 880’s Ed Mason, Commissioner William Elliott defends the controversial stun gun while admitting there certainly are risks involved.
Elliott says a moratorium might silence critics of the RCMP and other police forces but would do nothing to improve public and police safety.
Commissioner Elliott admits he’s considered a moratorium on Tasers on several occasions but he believes restrictions the RCMP has placed on the weapons are appropriate.
