Ontario Provincial Police Press Release – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Investigation and Organized Crime Command under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, has completed its investigation into allegations of criminal activity involving the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Insurance Administration Outsourcing Project, which has resulted in no charges being laid.
In March of 2008, the RCMP requested that the OPP conduct an independent criminal investigation into financial and procurement processes involving the RCMP insurance plans and its administration.
The OPP conducted an in-depth, thorough investigation which involved numerous interviews, computer searches, data analysis, and a review of a large quantity of documents.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined no reasonable grounds existed to warrant criminal or regulatory charges.
