OPP Asked to Look Into RCMP Pension Investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are being asked to look into the investigation into the pension and insurance scandal within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

RCMP Commissioner William Elliot, speaking before a Commons Committee Friday, said a review has been ordered of the investigation carried out by Ottawa Police, and that he’s sent a memo to staff, urging cooperation.

This comes after a review of RCMP management structure carried out by a special investigator last spring suggested the initial investigation might not have been completely independent.
