Off-duty officer spots thief

(Times and Transcript) – Even when they’re buying groceries, Mounties are still on duty.

Late Thursday afternoon, an off-duty Codiac RCMP officer was at the Atlantic Superstore in Riverview when he recognized an individual from previous dealings acting suspiciously. He then saw the man leave the store with a bag full of items.

The officer was able to confirm the man left without paying for the merchandise.

Police arrested a 28-year-old Moncton man yesterday afternoon in connection with the shoplifting incident. He will appear before a judge this morning.
