A member an RCMP major crime unit in Nova Scotia faces charges including theft and fraud.
Const. Blair Francis Gorman, an RCMP officer in the Pictou area, has been charged with two counts of fraud, one count of theft and one count of breach of trust by a public officer.
The charges are connected to the use of a government credit card to fraudulently purchase gasoline to fill plastic cans.
The gasoline involved in the allegations is valued at less than $5,000.
Gorman, who has been suspended from the RCMP with pay, has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11.
