Minister Toews Announces Re-appointment of Ian McPhail as Interim Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP

(RCMP Watch) – Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, today announced the re-appointment of Mr. Ian McPhail as Vice Chair and Interim Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP.

The CPC is an agency of the Federal Government created by Parliament to ensure complaints made by the public about the conduct of RCMP members are examined fairly and impartially.

“Over the years the CPC has played an important role in strengthening the RCMP’s accountability to Canadians,” said Minister Toews.
