Shelley Tomlinson, Melfort, SK (Melfort Journal) – A local RCMP officer has been charged with three criminal code offences.
Const. Ryan Rempel with the Melfort RCMP has been charged with uttering threats, forcible entry and entering a dwelling with intent.
According to information provided by the RCMP, the Melfort RCMP responded to two complaints at a residence in Melfort on two dates including Oct. 12, 2008 and Nov. 15, 2008.
Rempel is currently on administrative duties with the Melfort RCMP detachment. He has eight years of service with the RCMP and has served three years in Melfort.
According to information provided by the RCMP, the professional standards unit of the RCMP is currently conducting an internal investigation under part four of the RCMP Act.
The matter appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 14 and the matter was adjourned until May 5.
According to the RCMP, no further information is being released at this time since the matters are before the courts.
I wonder if its one of the two recipients of the Attorney Generals Crime prevention award given this year in Manitoba.
Maybe its one of the 100 cops who raised money for the SPOF with the annual hockey tournament.
