(CBC News) – A 41-year-old RCMP officer was arrested in Winnipeg on Thursday and charged with uttering threats.
According to police, the RCMP member was arrested just after 8 p.m. in connection to a domestic matter.
He has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and held in custody.
RCMP spokeswoman, Sgt. Line Karpish, said the member has been a Mountie for 11 years and holds the rank of constable.
He has been suspended and his employment status will be reviewed internally as the case goes forward, Karpish said.
