Vancouver, B.C. (Vancouver Sun) -A Coquitlam RCMP officer is facing impaired driving related charges after being stopped by Coquitlam RCMP early Friday morning.
Police made the arrest after receiving a complaint about 3 a.m. that a suspected impaired driver had just left the Boulevard Casino in Coquitlam, RCMP said in a press release.
“Coquitlam RCMP members located the suspect vehicle, determined that the driver was a member of the Coquitlam RCMP detachment, they formed the opinion that the driver’s ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol, and the driver was returned to Coquitlam RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples that were in excess of the legal limit,” police said.
The officer, whose name was not released, will appear in court Jan. 10 in Port Coquitlam.
He has been moved to administrative duties during a criminal investigation and a parallel internal investigation, police said.
Only if the prosecution refuse/forget to comply with multiple defense requests for their production.
