RCMP charge man with first-degree murder in death of Mountie

Iqaluit (Canadian Press) - The RCMP have charged a man in the shooting death of Const. Douglas Scott.
Pingoatuk (Ping) Kolola of Kimmirut, Nunavut, is charged with first-degree murder.
Kolola, 37, surrendered to police early Tuesday morning, just hours after Scott died while answering a drunk-driving call.

Slain Mountie’s parents denied injunction

Edmonton, Alberta  (Canadian Press) - The parents of a slain Alberta Mountie have lost a bid to delay his widow’s plan to move his body to the national RCMP cemetery in Regina.
