Canora, Saskatchewan RCMP officer charged with fraud

RCMP in Canora, Sask., have laid a fraud charge against one of their own members, following an alleged misuse of a corporate credit card.

RCMP say Cst. Ryan Coleman used the credit card to purchase gasoline this spring, while he was off duty.

Saskatchewan Public Prosecutions has recommended the charge be dealt with via the alternative measures program, so Coleman will not appear in court nor have a criminal record once the matter is dealt with.

Police say he could be subject to further disclipline under the RCMP Act once the criminal proceedings are complete.

Coleman is currently on administrative duty.
