Quesnel, B.C. (Canadian Press) – An RCMP officer in Quesnel, B.C., is facing an assault charge after a prisoner was slapped in the face.
The Mounties say the Crown has approved one charge against Const. Tim Wang after another RCMP officer reported that a handcuffed prisoner was slapped. Wang is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 8.
There is also a separate internal code of conduct investigation into the incident.
RCMP say Wang has been with the force for 12 years, and he remains on active duty at the Quesnel detachment.
Sgt. Rob Vermeulen says in a news release that an officer can remain on duty in such cases if the detachment supervisor and senior management feel the alleged behaviour won’t happen again.
Time after time the police are held accountable.
It’s like they are still on the playground. I thought the whole idea of being a police officer was to act like a adult not a bully; that’s what the majority of them are becoming. No one should die in police custody. So people are drinking and acting silly. I KNOW POLICE DON’T DRINK. but use commonsense and get the person home safely or to the hospital.

Appears by the fact no comments and he is still working that the RCMP want to keep this guy so he will be keeping his job.Doesn’t matter what you do as a RCMP member as long as you have friends.
