Mike Hager (Vancouver Sun) – Mounties in Anahim Lake, B.C. are under investigation by an independent outside police department after a man died in a police involved shooting early this morning.
Around 12:30 a.m. Anahim Lake RCMP received a complaint near the area of Nimpo Lake. A Williams Lake man was shot and has died.
Delta police are on their way to the remote central B.C. community, but are facing flight delays due to bad weather.
The North District Major Crime Unit has secured the crime site until the Delta officers arrive. The B.C. Coroners Service and victims’ services are also involved.
